I have long been a fan of all the 5 Vegas Series. While perusing the internet (yes the WHOLE thing), this morning, I came across a little tid-bit. A tid-bit I will now share with you. This may not be brand new news to everyone, but it is definitely news to me.

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008Hello and welcome to The Smoking Chair!
Thanks for visiting what I hope will become your authority for cigar reviews and information. I and the people that will be writing this site have been smoking for a few years and consider cigar smoking the height of enjoyment. There are more so many different types of cigar, so many different types of leaves, the possibilities are endless. There is a lot of culture that surrounds the cigar as well, from time to time on I will put together a little piece of a cigar’s history for those that are interested.
The Smoking Chair will have three types of articles.
- Reviews – Here we will rate the cigar according to our tastes.
- News – Latest news from the cigar industry.
- Education – The how-to or why of everything related to cigar smoking.
About the reviews we will be posting. Cigars are a very subjective smoke. carlos Alexander will rate a cigar differently than I will. Likewise for every person that will write any review about any cigar. The base stats of the cigar will be the same, but things like overall impressions, and strength will depend on what said individual likes. Because of this, you may find that you agree with one reviewer more than another. You may also find more than one review on a cigar in order to give you the best review possible.
The overall mission of this website is to provide you, the smoker a place to enhance your smoking experience. We are here to provide any information we can in order to make you enjoy your smoke even more.
This brings me to the name of the site. Why the smoking chair? When this brainchild hit me, we were in Iraq (in fact the first 10 or so articles were written in Iraq, even before the site was built), there was very little that was comfortable, I had my smoking chair, that was the epitome of comfort for me. I smoked on occasion sitting somewhere other than the chair, but the experience was never as good. Whenever I had a bad day, I always went to my smoking chair and lit up a cigar.
